James Dale Blankenship was convicted of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl in 1995, according to the New York Sex Offender registry.

After serving six months in a Jamestown City jail he was released to serve five years of probation, the NY records show.

After moving to Pennsylvania in the early 2000s he was caught failing to register as a sex offender and making related violations a few times, serving time in Pennsylvania prisons, according to court records with the state.

While at Keystone Correctional Services located at 7201 Allentown Boulevard, West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, child pornography was discovered in his possession, Pennsylvania State Police explained in a release on Oct. 2.

The pornography was discovered on Aug. 23, according to his latest court docket.

His preliminary hearing has been scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Dale E. Klein at 10 a.m. on Oct. 19.

As a level 2 sex-offender, under NY law, after 30 years he can appeal his sex offender status.
